What Makes Me Different?
I have always been extremely passionate about preventative maintenance. Empowering individuals to feel good about themselves internally and externally are key components. There is not one plan that will fit everyone. We are all designed and genetically different. There are many factors that play a role in your daily nutrition. I’m also a firm believer there are no quick fixes, short-cuts, but RESULTS can be seen as I will hold you accountable. As I help you obtain your nutrition goals daily/weekly, my goal is to optimize your health with clean, whole foods.
Nutrition has been a part of my life since I started running in middle school. My father would say I had a hole in my foot because I LOVE TO EAT and I LOVE FOOD. Thus, at an early age I learned the importance of fueling my body with proper nutrition. My mom remembers a time when all I wanted to eat was tuna fish and spinach. My passion for fitness and nutrition continued when I completed a Bachelors of Science in Nutrition at The University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio. Since then I have worked on providing solid nutrition programs for many types of clients, including endurance athletes, weekend warriors, homemakers and busy workaholics. I personally know how to fuel for performance as I have done numerous adventure races, century rides, triathlons and a half Ironman. My biggest nutrition challenge was fueling for a 3-day race in Costa Rica. In my spare time, I still train for one race per year but my main focus is my family. In 2009, my son was born at 28 weeks at 2 lbs. and was in the NICU for 70 days. It was during this time that my background and knowledge in nutrition helped me fuel my body in order to produce solid milk that was packed with nutrients for my son, as he was fighting for his life. Today my son is a vibrant boy and very active. I am happily married to my husband Chris who supports my passion of educating and serving those who are seeking out what is right for them. I am a certified SPIN Instructor and I am currently working on several fitness certifications. Most people work to make a living. I am blessed that I can do what I love and make a difference in someone’s life. I’m all about preventative maintenance. And our body is a unique system designed for longevity so why not fuel it with whole, clean foods.
